Adding an icing on top the cake, Nazri Aziz gives another lame statement again. Apparently ‘small fry’ statement by his idiotic boss is to protect the proposed Inter Faith Council and not to insult. This reminds me of arresting the journalist under ISA for her ‘own safety’. But seriously Nazri, do you think everyone in this country that stupid? Anyone who awarded you the law degree must be thinking of commit suicide.

I am not sure if the establishment of Inter Faith Council is a political gimmick but it gives hope.  For once we can have learned and respected scholars sit and discuss matters in civilized manner. Build a hope for some really substance than mere flare. An intellectual discussion for better Malaysia in future. It will be sad to see another round of attacks on Surau’s, Churches or any Worship Houses. Why are we so afraid of discussions? Why are we so afraid to talk openly? Please don’t give me the sh*t Muslims can be confused with all this. JAKIM, or whatever J – it is your responsibility to educate people not to contain them from learning.

Stop treating the public like morons. Yes, many of you morons still sitting in there talking cock but it all will end soon.  People will put a stop to all this nonsense sooner than you guys think.  And for God Sake, please wasting taxpayer’s money.

Outraged, 13^th April 2010. Kuala Lumpur

Apparently now everyone talking about brain drain in Bolehland because opposition controlled state of Penang has turn down/could not guarantee terms with a potential multinational investor. The term is about supplying and providing X number of E&E engineers as a work force.

OK, we can’t guarantee X number of engineers – but why don’t you offer some other incentives to lure them in. I mean incentives like tax rebates, discounted utilities and power as an exchange for the ‘potential investor’ to hire fresh graduates and train them in house? I am sorry if I am not a qualified economist to give opinion but I guess if even PM cum Finance Minister can have blunder on National GDP figure, surely I can be forgiven as well.

Quoted from Malaysian Insider this Gerakan economic bureau head Wan Sun Keong has this to say: “Each year, our public and private universities produce no fewer than 6,000 engineering graduates, based on my own unofficial estimates,” Let me ask you this: Out of this unofficial (I hope the official figure is less than this) 6K engineering graduates how many posses good command of English? How many of them are motivated to be an engineer for the passion not for the pay? How many of them are willing to work extra mile to be selected for the job?

We can’t even build a safe bridge for student to cross river till it cost 3 innocent young lives and you are talking about mass production of ENGINEERS from local institution. Sigh.

The brain drain syndrome is not exclusive to Malaysia. It is all over the world. People tend to migrate for better life, better pay, better tax system, better education system, better growth prospect and many more subjects which is purely subjective including better supply of porn magazines and satellite channels.

 We are still busy and tied up with utter nonsense. Arresting religious preachers for No –License preaching, caning beer drinking female Muslim, cheap skate racial and religious debates,  no ending political mess inter and intra parties, Flip Flop and U Turns on all public policies, unimaginable corruption and idiotic personalities as our law makers.

Very little attention given on Human Capitals, Education System (U Turn policies not considered as an attention), Continuous Education/Learning Programs, R & D and so forth. 

Rejuvenate the economic, improve the education system (stimulate them to THINK  forcing them memorize), stop all this nonsense sensitivity issues on vernacular education and Bahasa Rasmi bulls, get rid of race quota based enrolments,  improve the Enforcements & Judicial System to provide safer living for the citizens.

Fix the house before invite them in.

Confused – Bahrain – 10^th November 2009

1. Nope. I am not talking about 3D Television. I am still struggling with HDTV, IPTV, Mobile TV and what not. I will not talk about 3D Television or its standards. I am talking about 3 DECADES of my life.
2. I am old huh? 30 years old. Realistically speaking I am about to complete half of my life. I wonder how would it be if Zairul Azwan still alive? I remember I dig the grave to bury him with my own hands 12 years ago.
3. The image of him always reminds me how lucky I am to be still breath and experience the gift of life from Allah swt.
4. I am thankful to him for the moments Allah swt has granted me to feel, taste and enjoy the bliss of being his servant, a son, a husband, a father, a friend, a colleague, an employee and by being a human itself.
5. I lost not only Zairul in my life but many other loved ones. What it is when we lost someone? We unable to share the love with them anymore. They are not there anymore for us and with us.
6. The irony is, at times we tend not to share the love with those around us. Pathetic huh? Poor me.
7.  In this 30 years, I have learned ‘life goes on’ no matter what. There is no point to sit down and weep about anything. Learn from our mistakes. Learn from others mistakes and don’t afraid to fail.
8. I still believe I am in the process of growing. I don’t mean growing like how Ihsan does but in other perspective. I always believe you’ll only stop growing when you stop learning.
9. I have my weaknesses and my shortfalls. I shall thrive to continue improve myself and get rid of those weaknesses.
10. I thank each and every one of you who have made my life meaningful. Mostly, I thank HIM who might allow me to breathe on the day I turn 30.

Confused – Bahrain – 16th September 2009

Recently, this one senior member of cabinet drew a lot of media attention not only regionally but also at international level. Mr Rais Yatim, Minister of Information, Communication and Culture, successfully set a probably national record in term of number of flip flop on government decisions. We’ll censor the internet – we’ll not censor the internet. No Muslims can attend Black Eyed Peas showcase – Muslims can attend the showcase. For now even the Home Minister decided to join the flip flop race. I wonder if Mukhriz will follow suit.

But this piece is about an online article which claim that Mr. I know all Rais Yatim keen to review Astro’s 20 years exclusive operating rights. (This report anyhow not been confirmed by Rais himself of his ministry) The reason behind this is, the Satellite Pay TV operator not being so friendly to the government or more specifically to   1Malaysia concept. Apparently Astro is not doing enough to promote 1Malaysia concept by utilizing programming means and air time coverage.

Is this part of the exclusivity deal? Being pro government? Prime Time to dedicated for some vague, not so complete, only on words concept? Give me a break. What is this? Let me guess – all the spin by government controlled channels (RTM’s & Media Prima TV channels) not good enough to deceive the public? People don’t watch RTM/TV3 anymore? Anyway, does someone get into investigating what is the hanky deal with Bernama TV? Another mini PKFZ? I bet not many people out there who is loyal subscriber of Astro does not know even channels like BBC and CNN has to go through censorship of its content? (BBC/CNN News been censored? Sounds like Iran isn’t?) I am sure many die hard EPL fans wonder why in earth the LIVE telecast is delayed about 3 to 4 minutes. This is also to CENSOR some alcohol advertisements prior to the match. Why they need to censor? My answer is to please the ministry and its garbage regulations. Sorry, I miss another party. Now they also have to suck up MCMC.

Once in a very high profile meeting for a very high profile project involving Astro, I was proud when a Senior Executive from a reputable MNC of this industry (digital pay tv) said that Astro is one of the very few companies in Malaysia managed ethically. People in there run the business professionally. A real huge pool of local talents with diversified skills are in the business which extremely successful in past 13 years. Why Mr. Rais so keen to mess around in their business? You lost the plot for internet censorship and concert ban. So this is kind of cover malu?

On the same day, another online report says government denies the rumour about Rais reviewing the exclusivity license. Damage control? Whatever it is, we all know the pressure is already there by forcing Astro to migrate from Telecommuncation and Broadcasting Act to Communication and Multimedia Act. So, Mr.Minister – please go and do something else. Please, leave Astro alone.

For once I am NOT Confused. 4th September 2009. Bahrain

In short we are in mess. I quote this from Farish Noor’s writings. Of course he is on vacation and there is no update on his site. I did not write for last two weeks since I am blanked out of idea. I avoid myself to join the bandwagon and play the drum on MACC – TBH death. In fact I kept myself out of political soap opera in BolehLand and try to come up with another typical non political piece. I failed. I am sorry but I failed terribly.  While I am writing this piece I am seeing more and more nonsense being published online. Like there is no control or what so ever. The cyberspaces become more like a fun fair. Anyway this much I could digest: Anything more I’ll go insane.

1. TBH inquest got a new twist. Mystery letter. Finger pointing to senior MACC officer and Khir Toyo. Toyo denied all the allegations. Now what? Another Royal Commission to investigate the letter? Selangor CPO can’t investigate this. He is busy with unsettled travel bills. Confuse.
2. Permatang Pasir by election. BN/UMNO candidate is a disbarred lawyer. DPM said he is innocent. Bar Council said he is guilty. DPM said Bar Council has an ulterior motive. Bar Council dismissed the claim. The other super hero from UMNO said it was the BN’s candidate’s partner who caused the mess. The partner calls for press conference and shot back at the candidate. Fight goes on. Let see the election results. Nothing to confuse.
3. PKFZ. This mess beyond your imagination (OK, sorry – my imagination). Private Jet, 10 million in cash, BN’s ATM, CEO without appointment letter and what not. I am confused. Confused to the level I don’t even know which subject matter to confuse about. Anyway, DPM save the day. Thank God. The whole country talking about this for ages (Ask Nades from ‘the Sun’ when he wrote on this for the first time) and our beloved DPM say please settle it amicably. Why not? After all tax payer’s money what! I also use Nuri go around Sabah. Gee! The chopper must be replaced lah!! I call you when the tender is out OK.
4.  All this despite the death toll due to H1N1 is sky rocketing. 68 deaths so far. A week ago, a minister said do not panic. It is not alarming. Anyway if my memory still fine, quite sometime back we were busy fighting what do we call/name it? Swine Flu or H1N1? If only we use the time, efforts, synergy to contain the outbreak.  I wonder if I need to put on hold my trip to BolehLand in December. Confused.

I can go on and on. But I am confused. Confuse that if the country in autopilot mode or someone forgets that there is something called leadership. Please go on and have fun with more law suits, more fatwa’s, more by elections, more phantom voters, et al. We are in total mess, aren’t we?

Confused – 20^th August – Bahrain

1.As much as I could see how significant the rally was last weekend, I am hearing enough nonsense as well with regards to it.

2.The first kind of nonsense – why people take on the streets? We are a peaceful country, safe, prosperous, fair, harmony, et al.

3. Go and tell that (about peaceful country, safe, prosperous and fair) to TBH’s family, Kugan’s family, Maika shareholders, Non Bumi students who beg for seat in public university leave alone JPA scholarship.

4.I have a very close friend who complains about the traffic congestion last Saturday due to the rally. He blames the demonstrators for it. My better half complains all this rallies are ridiculous and unwarranted.

5.The rally was illegal because there is no way on earth police have approved if the organizer request for permit. Last year rally organized by Bersih request for permit but was denied.

6.There as no any sort of violent or disturbing behaviors of protesters. All the video on the net shows all provocation starts from the police. Ok. You don’t think so, go and ask Hamish Macdonald – He was there during last year rally covering the event for Al Jazeera International.

7.I definitely not heard of any burglary, sexual harassment, street fight or anything by demonstrates.

8.All went wrong when FRU decided to run amok with their water cannon and tear gas. Many eye witnesses and participants describe in detail how the FRU treated them even when they agree to disperse.

9.For those who was at the couch enjoying the new channels from Astro, or those who stuck on traffic with their 1 year old boy in the car and also those who give comments on MSM about how stupid the rally and people who joined it, let me tell you all something. You guys don’t care because it is not you or your loved one who have been detained or affected by ISA.

10.You could afford all your intellectual and brainy comments because you are fine. It is not you who lost the loving father who is in ISA since he was 2.

11.To put it simple, have some empathy. Try putting yourself in their shoes. If all that matters is your own comfort and pleasure then I am sorry for trying to convince you.

12.People took the streets because they lost all other medium to raise their voice. I don’t believe the mass we saw last Saturday was politically manipulated by the opposition. You can’t convince 10000 people to take on tear gas and water cannon for fragile Pakatan Rakyat’s political gains.

13.Second kind of nonsense will be from our beloved Ministers and konco-konco. The Home Minister gave an interview to Al Jazeera English claims the rally was not as bad as he anticipated. I rather not to comment on this. While he assures that ISA will be reviewed – the all time favorite Mr. Nazri with full arrogance said, as long as BN in power; ISA will not be abolished. I see that as straight provocation.

14.But the winner must be Datuk Mukhriz. ISA misunderstood? Yes, you are right. Art Harun have said it all why we the people (stupid people) of Malaysia misunderstood ISA.

15.Thank God Zainuddin Maidin was not invited by Al Jazeera for another phone interview. At times I wonder these people who represent the ordinary Malaysians in the parliament ever use their brain before start opening their mouth. OK, Nazri – exception for you. You don’t have one so you can’t use it.

Confused – 3rd August 2009 – Bahrain

I am confused when the police force in BolehLand can be very unpredictable. Couple of day’s back I read a piece on opinion section of Malaysia Insider written by Hafidz Baharom commenting how efficient our Royal Police is.

1. These are the following headlines, and sub headlines I found on The Star Online today: 16^th July 2009.

• Cabinet approves new bus and taxi fares
• PM pleased with swing factor in Malek Urai
• ‘Licensed’ loan sharks
• Cops to monitor traffic flow for MU match

       Etc, etc….the list goes on.

2. I wonder where is the update on the police report made against this two clowns from AL-Islam who did a James Bond spy stunt into some church in KL. Now I understand what Farish Noor (www.othermalaysia.org) meant by mini controversy and this issue has been relegated somewhat. Spin doctors huh?

3. How Muslims would had reacted if some non-Muslim journalist had done the equivalent? This is asked by Farish Noor. I am asking the following; would the wonderful PDRM and the main stream media will be this passive and patient if there is a police report lodged against non-Muslim journalist done the equivalent?

4. Will the Pemuda UMNO, PAS, ABIM and what not all will be this tame if this is done against Islam? Don’t you think there would some street demonstration (Police will escort them into the building to confront – Remember what happen in BAR Council?). Hello – DAP, MIC, MCA PKR, you all has members from Catholic community. In fact some of your lawmakers are Christian. I am not asking you guys to take on the streets. You all know what you can do. I hope so.

5. Just hours after some UPM students lodge a report saying that there are Christianity pamphlets been distributed within the campus the Police haul up few individuals inside the campus and interrogate them. As expected eventually the police said they have been arrested for trespassing UPM campus and been released after their statement been recorded. You arrest them for trespass the campus huh? Bullocks. Start arresting people who trespass UM campus on daily basis to take a short cut between Pantai Dalam and PJ and you will need the to increase the headcount immediately for this operation alone.

6. I wonder if this will be debated in Parliament. I would suggest the Catholic community not only demand a public apology but extend this by suing Al-Islam, Utusan as their parent publisher/owner and drag KDN into this mess and see if Hishammuddin will use his signature to ban this magazine. Remember when they banned some Catholic newspaper/journal in west Malaysia for using the word Allah?

7. By the way, the subject matter still on the police report. Ok, we understand the cops are too busy campaigning to ensure the IGP contract will be extended. They might take some time to open the case file. You know, there are procedures to follow. I will not be surprised if the person who lodges the report will be arrested first or called in to take their statement. Malaysia Boleh!

8. I feel confuse if this will lead for the mass to categorize me as a champion for the Catholics? Will this lead for more aggressive attack on myself and my family by our own family? How bad than can be? Malik Imtiaz Sarwar received death threats when he decided to represent Lina Joy. (Anyway, does anyone know where MIS is? It’s been months since his last update on his blog. I don’t see his update on Malaysia Insider as well.)

9. Just when I am about to conclude this piece I saw an update on Malaysia Insider about Khairy Jamaluddin reacted on this subject by condemning Al-Islam and the two journalists involved. I visited his blog (www.rembau.net.my)  and read the entire article. Khairy, I do respect your principle on this. Credit must be given where it is due. As I wrote on the comment section, I hope this will not only be your personal view but will be projected jointly by Pemuda Umno and Pemuda BN as well. Then the Pakatan Rakyat can follow suit. Confused! Sigh….

Confused – July 16^th – Bahrain

Sorry, I try not to write on this. English in BolehLand but I can’t help it.

Since I am an amateur in this blogosphere and my English composition skills still poor I will adapt Che Det’s writing style. Nope, this does not mean his English on the same par with mine. I am just doing this to minimize the grammatical errors on my articles. After all I am hoping Farish Noor to read it.

1. The DPM has announced yesterday that the Malaysian Cabinet has decided that the medium of instruction for Maths and Science will revert to Bahasa Malaysia and mother tongue languages in all national schools from 2012 onwards.
2. For sometime, I knew this is coming. How many times we have seen this trend in our political landscape? A flip flop policies. I read ART Harun’s piece on this couple of weeks ago << http://art-harun.blogspot.com/2009/06/please-dont-turn-our-children-into.html>>
3. I felt sorry for him because I was optimistic no one will give a shit for his concerns. In education perspective alone there have been many rapid changes of policy taken place for years. Remember the scheme where pupils can jump from standard 3 to standard 5? Is this still in place?
4. Reading a post from MM on this subject<< http://rantingsbymm.blogspot.com >>drive me to seek definition for the word empirical. I found it via online web dictionary. It means Derived from experiment, experience and observation rather than from theory and logic.
5. This is it. Do we have the final results of the policy in the first place? Call me dumb, but how do you evaluate the results after only 6 years the policy has been implemented? The last time I check, Primary School run for 6 years and you need another 5 years (6 if you are coming from SRJK) to complete your tertiary education in Malaysia. In total 11 years. Why are we not evaluating the policy outcome after 11 years?
6. Can someone tell me when is the last time we have seen a decline in overall UPSR/PMR/SPM/STPM performance results? The answer is NO right? And then why we are saying the teaching Maths and science in English have failed?
7. Ok, wait. I checked with my wife who graduated from local public university and she told me that the she was taught in English through out her 4 years of undergrad studies. I don’t need to ask what the medium used in private universities/colleges are. I graduated from there.  Just like ART Harun, I found my English was utter garbage when I enroll to the college for my undergrad. My friends who are from English speaking families use to laugh at me.
8. Enlighten me please, how do you expect a freshman to excel if he or she struggle with language proficiency issues? Don’t you think learning Maths and Science for 11 years in English would have been a big help?
9. Everyone including Farish Noor has written in length with regards to consequences of abandoning English. I will not go there again.
10.  Apparently the government plan to do ‘mass hiring’ of foreign and retired teachers to emphasis more in English subject. On top of that the duration of English classes will be increased significantly. There will be assistant teachers will be in classrooms with more than 35 students. Tell me something. Why can’t we do this and at the same time maintain the policy of teaching Maths and Science in English?
11. “Schools in rural and remote areas will get the best teachers”. Guess who said this? Our DPM. I say bullocks!!
12. During the press conference the DPM has announced many measures to strengthen the teaching and learning of English in schools. One of it will be>>> Grammar will be emphasized in the teaching and learning of English.What the ****?? Are you telling me all this while grammar was not emphasized in teaching and learning of ENGLISH, Mr. DPM Cum Education Minister???
13. Enough said. This is BolehLand, nothing more can be done. Viva Malaysiaku…
14. I am still keen to know the follwings;
    1. Will this decision give Umno landslide victory in Malek Urai?
    2. Will the fees for International Schools in KL/Malaysia sky rocket?
    3. Will someone propose to teach Science and Maths in Arabic – So it will be more Islamic? <<I am asking this on behalf of MM>>
